De plus, aucune personne violant l'espace aérien britannique ne se signalerait par de tels jeux de lumières. Nous pouvons donc en conclure que l'incident est sans conséquence pour la sécurité nationale."
  • Lord Amiral Hill-Norton : "Je n'ai aucun doute, quelque chose s'est posé à côté de cette base de l'U.S.A.F., et tout le monde a paniqué. Le ministère de la Défense, pour s'abriter, a affiché une attitude d'indifférence habituelle, en déclarant qu'il n'y avait aucun danger pour la sécurité nationale. Ainsi, soit tous ces gens, y compris les officiers supérieurs, ont été victimes d'hallucinations ( symptôme inquiétant chez des hommes dirigeant une base nucléaire ), soit ils ont effectivement observé un appareil. Dans un cas comme dans l'autre, la sécurité nationale du Royaume-Uni était en cause.
